Why Sliders Are The Perfect Party Food
Sliders are the perfect party food for quite a few reasons, but here are my favorite.
- First, they’re small and easy to eat, making them the perfect finger food for parties where guests are mingling and moving around. They can add it to a plate with several other appetizers.
- Second, they’re easily customizable, so guests can choose their own toppings and create their own unique sliders.
- Third, they’re easy to make in large batches, so you can feed a large crowd without spending too much time in the kitchen.
- Finally, they’re fantastic to eat! We all love beefy burgers, so what’s not to like about this easy dinner?
Ingredients For The Classic Burger Slider
To make easy ground beef sliders, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Ground beef – you can choose ground beef, lean ground beef, or ground turkey.
- Salt and black pepper
- Sliced cheese – you can use cheddar cheese, American cheese slices, mozzarella, or your favorite cheese.
- Slider buns – for this recipe, I used King’s Hawaiian rolls.
- Sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or bagel seasoning.
- Butter to top the buns.
- Grated parmesan cheese for the top.
- Dried parsley for the top.
- Caramelized onions – these are totally optional. Some people love onions, and some don’t. I made half of the sliders with onion and half without.
- Toppings of your choice (cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, etc.).

Step-by-Step Instructions for Making Easy Ground Beef Sliders
If you want onions, start by cooking them in a saucepan until they are caramelized. It usually takes about 15 minutes or so. Once they are done cooking, set them in a bowl to the side.
Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper to the saucepan and cook until the meat is browned. Drain the grease.
The nice thing about this recipe is that you can use just one pot for the entire thing.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls down the center.
Don’t pull each one apart. It will work better if they are still connected.
Grease a cookie sheet and set the bottom of the rolls on the sheet. You can also use a piece of parchment paper to lift the sliders off of the cookie sheet.
Line the bottom half of the rolls with slices of cheese.
Spread the ground beef over the cheese.
Some people like to make little patties, like the ones at White Castle, but I like to do things this way because it cooks faster.
If you are eating them with onions, add the onions on top.
For this recipe, I only put onions on half of the sliders. This is another bonus of making sliders–you can put different ingredients on the same set of rolls but in different places.
Add another layer of cheese on top of the meat.
Place the top half of the rolls on the layer of cheese.
Bake the rolls for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
Once you take the sliders out of the oven, melt some butter and add the parmesan cheese and parsley to the bowl.
Brush the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls, and they are ready to eat.
