How to Make the Fluffiest Pancakes Ever

You will have the best pancakes ever just by combining a few simple ingredients that are probably in your kitchen right now as you read this.

You need dry ingredients like all-purpose flour (or use whole wheat flour if you prefer), baking powder, and sugar.

For wet ingredients, you’ll need an egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk.

You can use regular milk, whole milk, almond milk, or any other type.

You can even use buttermilk if you have it, or you can make homemade buttermilk with a tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar added to a cup of milk for buttermilk pancakes.

How To Make The Pancakes

  1. Add the flour, baking powder, and sugar in a large mixing bowl and whisk together to combine. Create a well in the dry ingredients.
  2. Next, add the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract in a small bowl and mix to combine.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry well that you created and mix until combined.
  4. Melt some butter on your preheated frying pan or griddle and pour a little bit of the pancake batter onto the griddle and cook until you see little bubbles. Then, flip the pancakes over and cook the other side.

Start by adding the flour to a large mixing bowl.

A large mixing bowl is ideal to contain the dry ingredients. You’ll want a small bowl to hold the wet ingredients. Then these get combined together in the large bowl.

Cooking a pancake on a griddle.

Cook the pancakes on a griddle or in a large skillet.

Cooking the pancakes will be best on medium heat in a skillet. If you use an electric griddle, cook them at 350 degrees. This will ensure they get that nice golden brown color.

Once the pancakes start to bubble, you can flip them over and cook on the other side.

Once the pancakes are golden brown on each side, they are ready to eat.

When they’re done, you can serve them with fresh fruit and maple syrup.

Sometimes we add chocolate chips and whipped cream for added indulgence.

You can also go all out and make a full breakfast with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits, gravy, and whatever else you like for a fully Southern meal.
