An Easy Slow Cooker Recipe

We use the slow cooker all the time at my house, mainly because it’s easy to use and I don’t have to spend much time in the kitchen.

You can throw the chicken and the ingredients into the cooker in the morning, add some rice in the evening, and have dinner shortly after.

I’ve got a picky eater in the house and he loved this recipe. It’s not too strong of a taco flavor, but it added enough to make it delicious.

What Ingredients Do I Need To Make Slow Cooker Taco Chicken?

How Do I Make The Slow Cooker Chicken Recipe?

  1. Spray the slow cooker with a non-stick spray.
  2. Add the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, salt, pepper, and taco seasoning to a bowl and mix well.
  3. Place the chicken, side-by-side, into the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the taco mixture over the chicken, replace the lid, and set the timer for seven hours to cook on low.
  5. After seven hours, shred the chicken and add the rice.
  6. Pour water over the rice, making sure it is covered, replace the lid, and cook for 45 minutes to one hour, or until the rice is tender.

Start the recipe by adding the cream of chicken soup and broth to a bowl.

Next, add the salt, pepper, and taco seasoning to the bowl and mix well.

Spray the slow cooker with a non-stick spray and add the chicken.

Pour the taco mixture over the chicken and replace the lid. Set the slow cooker on a low temperature and the timer for seven hours.

After seven hours, shred the chicken.

It should shred very easily. It’s so tender that I am able to shred it with two forks.

Pour the rice over the top of the chicken. Pour the water over the rice and make sure that the rice is covered.

Replace the lid and cook for another 45-minutes to one hour, or until the rice is tender.

You can use white rice, which I what I used here, but you can also use Spanish rice, which will give it a little bit more of a spicy flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 - 10.75 oz. can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 - 14 oz. can chicken broth
  • 1 oz. package taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 16 oz. white rice (or Spanish)
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Add the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, salt, pepper, and taco seasoning to a bowl and mix well.
  2. Spray a slow cooker with non-stick spray and add the chicken.
  3. Pour the taco mixture over the top and replace the lid.
  4. Cook on low for seven hours.
  5. After seven hours, shred the chicken and pour the rice over the top.
  6. Pour the water over the rice and make sure the rice is covered with liquid.
  7. Cook the rice for 45 minutes to one hour, or until the rice is tender.
