This dinner was ready when I got home from work and it was so nice to come to. The pork was so tender and everyone loved it, even the kiddos.
So glad to hear it!
This turned out perfect! I love letting the crock pot do the work!
So glad you liked it! I love the Crock Pot, too!
I might try using Chinese 5 spice seasoning when I make this. It looks good. Looking forward to trying this one.
Sounds good! Let me know how you like it with that seasoning. Other here might like to try it, too!
Hello, your recipe looks delicious. I have one question …. have you ever done it with a combination of veggies not just sweet potatoes and onions, but like three or four different types of veggies in there? The reason I’m asking is we need dinner done when we walk in the door and I don’t want to have to fix a side veggie to go with it, considering the orange juice/soy sauce factor and thinking maybe parsnips? Brussels sprouts? Any suggestions are welcome thank you. !
Hi Rebecca,
Great question! I haven’t added other veggies with this, but I would try some carrots or celery in the recipe. I think parsnips would work, but Brussels sprouts will probably get mushy. Hope that helps!
Inedibly bad.
I am so sorry to hear that. What did you not like about it?
It was extremely bland. The porkchops need seasoning and to be seared some before being put in the crockpot. The smells were delicious but there was no taste when you ate it. It reminded me of a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal which was weird to have in May like we did. Very disappointed by this recipe.
Hi rachel,
I am sorry to hear you didn’t like this. You put all of the seasonings on?
Can you use bone in pork chops???
Yes, you will just need to make sure you dig them all out before eating. But they really add flavor with the bones!
I can’t wait to try this recipe. My mom cooked something similar when I was a kid except she added evaporated milk instead of chicken broth. it was yummy.
I hope you love it! It’s so fun when we find a recipe similar to what we grew up with!
