Step-By-Step Instructions

Add your ground beef, eggs, panko breadcrumbs, and half of the onion soup mix to a large mixing bowl. Mix everything until combined and shape into patties. I made four patties, but you can make them smaller and make six or more.
Add a little drizzle of olive oil to the skillet and cook the hamburger steaks on medium-high heat. Flip halfway through. The hamburger steaks will cook faster if they are smaller.

Once your hamburger steaks are done cooking, take them out of the skillet and set them to the side. The inside temperature of the beef should reach 160 degrees. Make sure the thermometer doesn’t touch the bottom of the pan, or you will get an incorrect reading.
Next, add the butter to the skillet and let it melt. Add the flour, Worcestershire sauce, and the remainder of the onion soup mix and whisk. It will be thick and lumpy. Pour in the water and milk, and whisk until all the lumps disappear. The gravy will start to thicken as it cooks.

Place the hamburger steaks back into the skillet with the gravy and smother the tops. Serve!

Storage and Reheating Instructions
Store any leftovers in an airtight container and keep them refrigerated. When you are ready to reheat, preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Add the beef and gravy to an oven-safe dish. Add a couple of tablespoons of chicken or beef broth (or water if that is all you have) to the dish to keep the hamburger steaks from drying out. Cook for about 20-30 minutes or until the beef gets to 160 degrees.
