My husband started growing pineapples a few years ago and we’ve had quite a few.

They taste so sweet and turn out delicious. Although, it takes about two years to grow one.

He starts by cutting the sides off and cleaning it up a little.

You can do so many things with pineapple including grilling it with a little brown sugar and cinnamon on top or adding to ice cream, or just about anything you can think of.

Step-By-Step Instructions For Fresh Pineapple Pie

Nilla Wafers ground up in a Cuisinart

Start by adding your Nilla Wafers to a food processor and crushing them into crumbs.

If you don’t have a food processor that is fine, just put the Nilla Wafers into a large Ziplock baggie and crush them with a rolling pin.

Pouring melted butter into a Cuisinart

Next, pour the melted butter into the food processor and mix.

Just mix enough to incorporate the butter and crumbs.

Crushed Nilla wafers in a pie shell

Press the crushed Nilla Wafers into the pie shell.

I used a deep dish pie plate for the recipe.

You don’t need to grease the pie shell first. The crumbs will slide right out when you go to serve the pie.

This crust will crumble very easily, which is fine because it will soak up the liquid from the pineapple juice.

You can use graham crackers for this recipe instead, if you like those better or don’t have any Nilla Wafers. Either one will work fine.

Another quick option is a prepared graham cracker crust from the store.

There’s nothing better than a Nilla Wafer or graham cracker pie crust.

Softened butter in a bowl

Grab a large mixing bowl and your electric mixer and cream the softened butter.

Powdered sugar and butter in a bowl

Add the powdered sugar to the bowl.

Crushed pineapple in a bowl with sugar and butter

Pour the crushed pineapple into the bowl.

I crushed the pineapple in my Ninja mixer. If you don’t have one, just chop it up the best you can.

There’s really no right or wrong way to crush it up.

If you are buying pineapple just buy some crushed canned pineapples.

Pouring heavy cream into a bowl

Get a separate bowl and pour the heavy cream into the bowl. Whip at high speed on your electric mixer or in your stand mixer.

You’re going to whip until you have stiff peaks.

Powdered sugar and whipped topping

Next, add the powdered sugar to the whipped topping and mix again until combined.

If you don’t want to whip all of this up, you can use Cool Whip instead. Measurements are listed below.

Whipped topping with crushed pineapple

Add the whipped topping to the bowl and mix until combined.

No bake pineapple pie

Pour the pineapple mixture into the pie crust and refrigerate for at least two hours.

The pie will not be super thick, it will be like a pudding consistency.

No bake pineapple pie on a counter

Add more whipped topping on the top of the pie.

You can either buy some store-bought whipped topping or make another bowl of homemade whipped cream.

Just repeat the process with eight ounces of whipped topping and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar.

      Thanks, Carlee!

  2. Heavy whipping cream not included in recipe. How much do use if whipping cream is included with recipe?..

    1. Julie Pollitt says:

      Hi Bett,

I apologize, that was confusing. I use 8 ounces of heavy whipping cream for the pie filling and 8 ounces for the topping. You will add the powdered sugar to the heavy whipping cream. I changed it to the correct wording in the recipe card.
