What We Love About Pork

Pork is a favorite dish around our house because it is so versatile. You can cook it in the oven, the slow cooker, on the grill, or in the air fryer.

Pork is a lean cut of meat (as lean as chicken) and is high in proteinโ€”more than 20 grams in just three ounces. When we buy pork, we help the farmers in Utah and all across the United States. We love helping out our community!

Did you know that when you buy pork at your local grocery store, it comes from a farmer in the US? It’s such a great way to give back by supporting families all over.

How To Make The Slow Cooker Meal

Start by slicing the onions and two apples and add them to the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the pork right on top.

Slice the last apple and place it on top of the pork. Sprinkle the cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper on top. Finally, add the cubes of butter to the dish. Place the lid on top and cook on low for eight hours or on high for 4 hours.

The end result is a tender, hearty, and incredibly flavorful dinner that the entire family will love. The apples and cinnamon add a fall feel to the dish that everyone loves.

The pork can be sliced or shredded. It’s great on top of rice or mashed potatoes or shredded and added to a sandwich bun. You can also add the liquid to a saucepan and make some gravy to drizzle over the dish.

Notes

The longer you cook the pork, the more tender it will be. I recommend cooking it for the full eight hours on low.
I purchased 2.6 pounds of pork and it fed six people.
