The Easy Breakfast Quiche Recipe Is Great For Sharing With Others

This is also a great recipe to share with others. We made about eight of these for the youth at church, and it was super easy.

We baked the quiche the day before, brought them to the church, refrigerated them overnight, and they warmed them up the next morning.

Step-By-Step Instructions For Quiche

Ingredients in several bowls for quiche. The ingredients are surrounding a frozen pie crust

Grab your frozen pie shell and place it on the counter.

Measure your ingredients.

Diced veggies in a frozen pie crust.

Add your diced veggies to the pie crust.

For this recipe, I bought a package of pre-cut veggies. I did end up cutting them a little more, but it’s not necessary.

You can use your favorite veggies, but I used red bell peppers, green bell peppers, and onions.

Hash browns in a pie shell

Next, add your hash browns to the crust.

I bought frozen hash browns for the recipe.

shredded cheddar cheese, hash browns, and diced veggies all inside of a pie crust.

Sprinkle your shredded cheddar cheese on top.

You can use your favorite cheese for the recipe. Here are some options:

  • Cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Pepper Jack cheese
  • Vegetarian cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Mexican blend cheese
pre-cooked turkey sausage in a pie shell with shredded cheddar cheese, hash browns, and veggies.

Add the turkey sausage to the crust.

Give everything a little toss with your hands to mix it up.

I bought some pre-cooked turkey sausage for the recipe because it makes life easier, and I didn’t have to cook it.

You can cook your own meat for the recipe. Here are a few choices:

Four raw eggs in a bowl with black pepper and salt.

In a small bowl, add the eggs, salt, and pepper and whisk.

Pouring milk into a bowl with raw eggs.

Pour the milk into the bowl and mix.

Milk is another ingredient that you can change if you want to add lower fat milk or a creamier one. Here are some options:

  • Whole milk
  • Half and half
  • Almond milk
  • Heavy cream
  • Skim milk
Uncooked quiche in a frozen pie shell.

Gently pour the quiche filling into the pie crust and stir to mix up the ingredients.

TIP: Place the pie crust on a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil. If you happen to spill some of the egg mixture while carrying it to the oven, it won’t get all over the place. And clean up will be much easier.

Cooked quiche with a slice cut out.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until the quiche is golden brown on top and around the edges.

Optional Ingredients

The great thing about this recipe is that you can add, switch, or take things out that you like or dislike. Here are a few ideas.

  • Red peppers
  • Fresh vegetables
  • Baby spinach
  • Turkey bacon mixture
  • Fresh spinach
  • Garlic powder or fresh garlic
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Feta cheese
  • Seafood
  • Spices
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Add your favorites!

How To Store The Quiche

If you have any leftovers, you can keep it refrigerated in an airtight container or cover it with plastic wrap before adding it to the refrigerator.

If you make the quiche a day in advance, allow it to cool, place it in an airtight container (or cover with plastic wrap), and refrigerate.

Do I Have To Use A Crust?

You do not have to use a crust for the recipe. A crustless quiche recipe is a great way to make the recipe a low-carb one.

I would still use a pie pan or an 8″ x 8″ greased baking dish to bake the quiche. The cooking time might vary a little so be sure to check on the dish while baking.

Are Quiches A Healthy Breakfast Option?

If you add healthy ingredients to your quiche recipe, it will be healthy. Vegetables added to eggs, are always a great addition.

How Do I Make Mini Quiches?

If you want to make mini quiches, prepare the recipe in a large bowl and pour the ingredients into small pie crusts. Place the pie crusts on a cookie sheet and bake.
