Sour cream dip and veggies on a cutting board

I haven’t always been a dip person, but in the past few years, I’ve grown to love them. I certainly enjoy anything with sour cream in it, and this dip starts with sour cream and flavorful seasonings including onion, garlic, dill, and parsley.

This dill dip recipe took me longer to get the ingredients out of the fridge than it did to whip them up–it’s that quick and easy.

I love dips with sour cream and this is the perfect sour cream dip. It the perfect dip for vegetables if you have a hard time getting the kids to eat them.

I had a hard time not eating the dip long enough to take the pictures for this post!

Recipe and printable instructions listed below

Six ingredients in bowls for sour cream dip

You’re only going to need six ingredients for this dip, and chances are, you might have most, if not all of them already.

What do I need for the sour cream dip recipe?

  • Medium-sized bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Fork
  • Spatula
  • Sour cream
  • Mayonnaise
  • Garlic Salt
  • Dill weed
  • Minced onion
  • Parsley

Sour cream in a bowl

Start by adding the sour cream to the bowl.

Next, add the mayonnaise to the bowl.

If you’re a bit worried about using mayonnaise for this recipe and would like something less fattening, try some Greek yogurt instead.

You’ll save on calories, fat, and sodium, and Greek yogurt has the same texture as mayonnaise.

Thirdly, add the minced onion to the mix.

I got the dried minced onion on the spice aisle and I’ve been able to use it for several different recipes. It works great in this sour cream dip as well as this recipe for slow cooker pork chops and gravy.

Lastly, pour in the garlic salt, dill weed, and parsley.

Give everything a good stir and place it in a bowl. You can sprinkle a little bit more parsley on top for a pretty garnish – your guests will love it.

I can’t help but love this recipe, it’s one of the best dip recipes out there, mainly because it tastes great, but it’s also so easy to make.

The sour cream dip pictured above is doubled, which is plenty for a party. But beware, it will get gobbled up fast.

What to serve with the dip:

  • Tomatoes
  • Celery
  • Pickles
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Carrots
  • Asparagus
  • Bell peppers
  • Cucumbers
  • Potato chips
  • Toasted pita chips
  • Tortilla chips
  • Pretzels
  • Crackers

I love going to parties and bringing a treat or two; however, around the holidays we’re all so busy that it’s hard to find extra time to spend in the kitchen.
