Step-By-Step Instructions

If you have fresh pineapple you can slice it with a special rotating tool (there’s a link in the recipe card). It slices the inside of the pineapple as it turns.
If you don’t use fresh pineapple, that’s ok. You can purchase canned pineapple chunks for the recipe.
My husband grows pineapples in the backyard, so we have one to use every once in a while.

This is what the inside of the pineapple looks like after you cut it and pull it out.

Here’s the inside of the pineapple afterward. There’s a ton of juice inside the pineapple.
It’s easy to squeeze the pineapple to get plenty of extra juice for the recipe.

After you cut the pineapple, grab a large bowl and add the sugar.

Next, add the all-purpose flour to the bowl.

Pour the pineapple juice into the bowl and mix the three ingredients.
If you bought canned pineapple, be sure to save the juice from the can so you will have enough for the recipe. If you are a little short, you can use water.

Add the chunks of pineapple to the bowl and toss to coat the pineapple.

Mix until all of the pineapple pieces are coated with the sugar and flour mixture.

Add the pineapple chunks to a prepared casserole dish.
For this recipe, I greased the dish with butter.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
I used sharp cheddar cheese for the recipe because I love the flavor. But you can use whatever cheese is your favorite.
Other Types Of Cheese
- White cheddar cheese
- Mild cheddar cheese
- Parmesan

Crush the Ritz Crackers and add them to a separate mixing bowl.
To crush the crackers, I added them to a large bag and crushed them on the counter with my hand.

Pour the melted butter into the bowl with the crackers and toss to coat most of the crackers.

Place the Ritz Crackers on top of the casserole and spread them to the edges.
Bake the pineapple casserole for 30 minutes.

The top will get nice and golden brown. The basic ingredients create the perfect blend of flavors and might just become your favorite side dish.
How To Store The Pineapple Casserole
Store the casserole in an airtight container or cover with some plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator.
