Baked Brie With Puff Pastry
Baked brie wrapped in a puff pastry with brown sugar, pecans, and cranberries is a mouthwatering appetizer that you will not be able to stop eating.
This is one of those fabulous recipes for the holidays or any time of year.
Baked Brie Appetizer

The baked brie appetizer is honestly one of the most delicious recipes I’ve ever eaten. It has a salty-sweet combo that is out of this world.
If you want an appetizer to wow people, this is the one. And it’s easy to make. It only takes a few minutes to get the brie ready to bake.
I’ve bought pre-made baked brie from the store, and it’s convenient and always turns out delicious, but why not make your own and add a few additional ingredients to make a treat that everyone will remember?
Perfect For The Holiday Season
The easy appetizer is always a hit anytime, but especially around the holiday season.
It’s comforting, warm, and sooo delicious.
The recipe is perfect for parties, but you will have to wait to cook it until you arrive at the party, otherwise, the cheese will harden again when it cools.

How To Make Baked Brie With Puff Pastry

Start by taking the wrapper off of the brie cheese. I cut the top and sides off of the brie.
You can see in the picture below where I sliced off the side and top rind.
I did leave the rind on the bottom of the cheese, however.
I have made this with and without the rind and I will say I personally think it tastes better without the rind.
When you cut the rind off of the cheese, make sure the cheese is cold; otherwise, you will have a big blob of cheese mess before you even get started.
I used Ile De France Brie, and I thought it had great flavor. I bought the cheese at Publix.
Brie is a creamy cheese and comes in many sizes. I used an eight-ounce wheel of brie, but you can go all the way up to a large wheel of brie that is 19 ounces, as well.

Unfold the puff pastry, place it on a greased cookie sheet, shallow baking dish, or pie plate and place the brie in the center of the sheet.
Lightly grease the baking dish before placing the puff pastry on it.
I bought frozen puff pastry sheets. I set the sheets in the refrigerator the day before I was going to use it so they would thaw.
You can also set them on the counter to thaw before unfolding them. If you try to unfold the sheets while they are frozen, they will break.
If you do that, just let the puff pastry thaw, and you can press the dough back together. (I learn all these things from experience. If there’s a way to mess something up, I will be the first to do it. ๐คช).
At our local grocery store, they only sell puff pastry packages with two puff pastries; however, you only need one for this recipe.

Next, place the brown sugar on top of the brie cheese.

Add the cranberries.
You can also add other favorite dried fruits to the top for more delicious flavor.

Add the pecans on top of the brown sugar and cranberries.
Brown sugar brie is out-of-this-world delicious. My mouth waters just thinking about it.

Bring one corner of the puff pastry up and over the brie, and work your way around until all of the puff pastry is folded up and over the cheese.

I happened to have some little pastry cutters that I don’t get to use very often. You can cut shapes and add them on top of pies or puff pastry excess dough.
This isn’t necessary, but fun. So, if you have some, you can use them and add the shapes to the top of the brie before baking.

Beat one egg white with a fork and brush it on the puff pastry. The beaten egg white will give it some shine when it cooks.

I usually use a pastry brush to brush on the egg whites.
If you don’t have one, just spoon some of the egg over the dough and rub it around.

Bake the brie for 20 to 30 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown and flaky.
An egg wash always makes things like puff pastries and pie crust flaky and golden.
After baking, you can move the brie to a serving dish.

After it bakes, cut the puff pastry right away, and the gooey brie cheese will ooze out. Spread on a cracker, and enjoy!
This really is the best-baked brie recipe and one of my favorite appetizers.
You are going to fall in love with this easy recipe. I couldn’t stop eating it! If I see brie on a table, I head straight for it, especially if it has some sort of sugar mixture and dried fruit with nuts on top. Helllooooo.
There’s a local restaurant that serves warmed brie with candied walnuts, sliced apples, and dried cranberries, and I am tempted every time to hog the entire appetizer and eat it as my dinner.

Other Foods To Eat With The Baked Brie:
- Apple slices
- Maple syrup drizzled on top
- Honey drizzled on top
- Toasted baguette slices
- Dried fruit wedges
- Candied walnuts
- Candied pecans
