How To Make the Trifle

Start by cutting the angel food cake into cubes. Cap and slice strawberries to ¼ inch thick or so and set aside.

Next, add the cream cheese and powdered sugar to a bowl and mix until creamy.

In a separate bowl, beat whipping cream and vanilla together until stiff peaks form. Beat whipped cream into cream cheese mixture, one half at a time.

In an 8-10 inch trifle dish or other, preferably straight-sided bowl, place a single layer of angel food cake and then ⅓ of the whipped cream mixture on top. Next, sprinkle with half the blueberries on top of the cake.

Repeat with a second layer of angel food cake and whipped cream, topping with all or nearly all the strawberries. Repeat with a third layer of cake and whipped cream, topping with remaining blueberries and strawberries, and sprinkle with mint.

Once the trifle dish is filled, refrigerate until you are ready to serve it.

Tips

  • You can add more cake and berries with the cream layers if the bowl is larger.
  • You can use a clear glass bowl if you don’t have a trifle bowl.
