Hershey's Chocolate Frosting Recipe

Hershey's chocolate frosting is a simple recipe with only a few ingredients. It's perfect for double-layer cakes or cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of butter
  • ½ cup of 2% milk
  • 2 Tablespoons of Hershey's unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups of powdered sugar
  • Pinch salt optional

Instructions

  • Add the butter to a saucepan. Melt the butter on medium heat.
  • Next, add the milk and cocoa and mix well. 
  • Cook for a few minutes until the mixture is a little thick. 
  • Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
  • Add the powdered sugar and whisk to combine.
  • Immediately spread over the cake as it hardens fast.

Notes

If the frosting is too thick, you can add a small amount of additional milk, starting with one tablespoon. If it's too thin, you can add some powdered sugar, also starting with one tablespoon.
