- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 Tablespoons butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 12 ounce semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium-sized bowl, beat light brown sugar, vanilla, and eggs until creamy. Set aside.
In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a small bowl, melt 8 ounces of chocolate chips with butter. Melt in increments of 20 seconds, stirring each time.
Add the melted chocolate to the egg mixture and mix until well blended.
Add the flour to the chocolate mixture and mix until well blended.
Add 12 ounces of chocolate chips to the mixture and fold in.
Drop a spoonful of dough 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes or until cookies crack.
Let the cookies cool on the cookie sheets for 5-10 minutes.
Remove and place on a wire rack to cool.
I use a fork to check the inside of the cookies after I take them out of the oven. If they are still too gooey, I will bake them 2-3 minutes more.
I like to use a stoneware cookie sheet for the recipe. You can also use a silicone mat or a regular cookie sheet.
