Ingredients

  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 ounce semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • In a medium-sized bowl, beat light brown sugar, vanilla, and eggs until creamy. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, melt 8 ounces of chocolate chips with butter. Melt in increments of 20 seconds, stirring each time.
  • Add the melted chocolate to the egg mixture and mix until well blended.
  • Add the flour to the chocolate mixture and mix until well blended.
  • Add 12 ounces of chocolate chips to the mixture and fold in.
  • Drop a spoonful of dough 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until cookies crack.
  • Let the cookies cool on the cookie sheets for 5-10 minutes.
  • Remove and place on a wire rack to cool.

Notes

I use a fork to check the inside of the cookies after I take them out of the oven. If they are still too gooey, I will bake them 2-3 minutes more.
I like to use a stoneware cookie sheet for the recipe. You can also use a silicone mat or a regular cookie sheet.
