- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup melted butter two sticks
- 2 cups brown sugar packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13" x 9" baking casserole dish with butter or nonstick spray.
Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Melt the butter and add to a large bowl. Add the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla and mix together.
Add the flour mixture, a little bit at a time, until completely mixed together.
Add the chocolate chips and toffee bits and mix with a spatula.
Spread into the greased baking pan and sprinkle a few more extra chocolate chips and toffee bits on top.
Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. The bars will be golden brown on top.
Let cool for at least one hour.
Store the chocolate chip toffee cookie bars in an airtight container or cover with plastic wrap. The bars do not have to be refrigerated.
If you want to lift the bars out after baking, line the pan with parchment paper before adding the batter. After baking and cooling, the bars will lift right out.
