Basic Powdered Sugar Chocolate Icing Recipe (Pourable)

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2-3 Tablespoons warm water or milk or heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  • Add the powdered sugar, cocoa, vanilla extract, butter, and water to a large bowl and mix well.
  • Pour the icing over a dessert.

If the powdered sugar icing recipe is too runny, add more powdered sugar. If the recipe is too thick, add a small amount of liquid at a time, such as water or milk.
