- 4-6 cups of fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 15.25 ounces of yellow box cake mix
- 1 1/2 sticks of butter sliced
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Add the blueberries to the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon and stir to coat.
Sprinkle the cake mix on top and spread out. Do not mix.
Slice the butter thin and place on top of the cake mix.
Add the cake to the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Slice the butter thin and spread it all over as much as possible. The cake will bake better if the butter melts all over.
The amount of blueberries depends on how many you would like. We love them, so we add the full six cups. But four is plenty, as well.
You can store any leftovers in an airtight container or cover with some plastic wrap and keep refrigerated.
You can add a scoop of ice cream right on top for some extra sweetness.
Every once in a while, the cake mix doesn't want to bake, so you need to make sure you slice the butter thin and get it all over the cake.
