Homemade Strawberry Syrup is an easy recipe that takes about 15 minutes to make. It's perfect on shortcake, angel food cake, pancakes, or ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound strawberries ripe, cut up, and clean
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  • Add the strawberries, sugar, and vanilla to a saucepan on medium to high-heat.
  • Stir the ingredients together and mash the strawberries with a masher.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to simmer and cook for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and use, or store in a jar.
