Funeral Potatoes

Funeral potatoes are one of the best potato dishes out there. The cheesy hashbrown casserole is a delicious recipe and a comforting side dish.

Ingredients

  • 32 ounce bag hash brown potatoes
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 - 15 ounce can cream of of chicken soup
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon minced onion seasoning
  • 3 cups Corn Flakes
  • 1 stick butter melted
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 13" x 9" casserole dish.
  • Add the cubed potatoes to a large bowl.
  • Next, add the cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, onion seasoning, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  • Mix everything together well and pour into the casserole dish.
  • Bake for 20 minutes and remove from the oven.
  • Sprinkle the Corn Flakes on the top of the potatoes.
  • Melt the butter and pour over the Corn Flakes.
  • Return to the oven for 20 minutes.

Notes

Break up the frozen potatoes while still in the bag. I usually take the palm of my hand and gently hit the bag to break them up.
They will be easier to stir when combining the ingredients.
