Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 pounds boneless country-style pork ribs
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground dry mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 sliced onion
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
  • Additional barbecue sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300-degrees and line a 9-inch by 13-inch rimmed baking dish with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray or olive oil.
  • Pat dry the boneless country style pork ribs and place them into the baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, oregano, rosemary, ginger, ground mustard, and brown sugar and mix well.
  • Rub the spice rub over the pork ribs on all sides.
  • Place the onions on top and pour the water into the bottom of the pan.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for two hours.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and check if the pork is tender. If not, cook for 30 more minutes. If it is tender, remove most of the water with a baster (careful, it's hot).
