Ingredients

  • 9- inch frozen deep dish pie shell unbaked
  • 1 Tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 pound pork sausage cooked
  • 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Allow the pie crust to thaw out a little.
  • Brush melted butter on the pie crust and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Cook the sausage and drain the grease (or use precooked sausage).
  • In a mixing bowl, mix cooked sausage with flour.
  • Sprinkle the cheese into the pie crust.
  • Add the sausage on top of the cheese.
  • Mix the eggs and milk and pour over the sausage.
  • Return to oven for 35 to 45 minutes. (Bake until a knife comes out clean).

Notes

I like to cover a sheet pan with aluminum foil and place the pie pan on top so that if anything boils over it won't be a mess in your oven.
We like sharp cheddar cheese here, but you can use your favorite shredded cheese for the recipe.
For the pie crust, you can use a homemade pie crust, refrigerated pie crust, or frozen.
