Ingredients

  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup of Hershey's cocoa
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Line the bottom of the pans with parchment paper.
  • Add the dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix. (Be sure the bowl is heat safe, as you will be pouring boiling water into the bowl).
  • Next, add the Hershey's cocoa and mix.
  • Add the milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Boil the water and pour it into the bowl and mix well. (The batter will be very thin).
  • Pour the cake batter into the two round pans and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
