- 2 cups of white sugar
- 1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup of Hershey's cocoa
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Line the bottom of the pans with parchment paper.
Add the dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix. (Be sure the bowl is heat safe, as you will be pouring boiling water into the bowl).
Next, add the Hershey's cocoa and mix.
Add the milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract and mix well.
Boil the water and pour it into the bowl and mix well. (The batter will be very thin).
Pour the cake batter into the two round pans and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
